Once again we traveled to the quaint town of Douglas, Wyoming (home of the Jackalope) for the AHA Region 6 Championships at the end of June. We only took the one horse, Jensems Suzie Q and had a fabulous show catching up with old friends.

This year was my first time competing as a “professional”, having given up my Amateur status earlier this year. We stepped up a level in dressage to Level 1, had our first start in Level 1 Western Dressage, tried our hand for the first time at Ranch Riding as well as contesting our usual Sport Horse Under Saddle and In Hand classes. True to form, Suzie Q performed beautifully in all classes for the following results:
Champion: Level 1 English Dressage
Champion: Level 1 Western Dressage
Champion: Sport horse Under Saddle (this was our third consecutive championship win in this division at this show! A few tears were shed!)
Reserve Champion: Sport horse mare in hand (ATR) (Handled by Debbie Canaday)
Top 5: Sport horse mare in hand (tied on points with Reserve Champion, Handled by Debbie Canaday)
Top 5: Ranch riding (Score 71.5, just 0.5 off Reserve champion!)

This year it was wonderful to have Scott with me. He is such huge support and a big part of my success! We were able to have a bit of a look around the area as well, seeing some historical sites and relaxing with friends.
Preparations now begin in earnest for Sport Horse Nationals, with both Jensems Suzie Q & Om El Babylon (owner Athena Steadman to ride!)
Cheers for now & Happy riding!
