While I was off competing at Nationals, Blair Niemcziek and her lovely mare Romey were competing at the USDF Region 6 Dressage championships in Washington State. Romey is sponsored by Peak Performance Equine with a custom balanced diet and PEMF therapy to keep her in top form.
As Blair reports:
Romey was 1st place in her open class Thursday with a 67% from a tough California Judge. A solid test with one bobble. On Friday not only won a large 3rd level class with a 73.9% but won High Point of the Open classes for the entire day! This is her best score to date. It was a superb test and she was stellar. Saturday was our Championship ride and with it being Washington in the fall, the weather was less than ideal. Sun breaks followed by huge wind gusts, sudden downpours, followed by more sun breaks. She warmed up beautifully, but the wind picked up during our test (all of these classes are ridden outside!) and Romey became quite hot. We had a mistake in one of the flying changes and overall she was not nearly as relaxed as Friday. A 65% and placed 10th out of 20 rides. A solid finish to a long week of hard work! We also received an invitation to compete at the National Finals in Kentucky mid November after our performance at this show. But we will decline for this year. Too much travel!
Huge congratulations to this wonderful team!
Cheers & Happy Riding!
