Athena Steadman (mum to Om El Babylon, valued client and wonderful friend) and I have some exciting news to share.  We have teamed up in a “little” project, this darling 3year old Arabian mare!!

I was certainly not looking for another horse for myself just yet, however daily messages, photos and lots of excitement from Athena about this girl had me  agreeing to go take a look.

With a very particular and critical eye, I watched closely as this little girl was ridden by the seller.  Athena then climbed aboard for a walk and trot and then I jumped on to feel her for myself.  While still very much a baby with very little training to date, this girl trotted and cantered around sweetly, in among jumps, over poles, all next to a busy road, without batting an eye!  Right, this does need further consideration!

After further discussion and lots of reviewing of the videos, the decision was made to make her part of the Peak Performance team and, I must admit, my excitement has grown to (nearly) match Athena’s!

So what had Athena so excited?  Her pedigree!  Being a little unfamiliar with this particular bloodline, Athena explained to me that her pedigree is full of her all time favorites!  Indeed, apart from her immediate sire, every stallion within the first 4 generations is a National Champion, and some of those are multiple National Champs!!  Well that certainly explains her wonderful, athletic and correct structure.  She also has the prettiest movement, a sweet, personable and inquisitive nature along with a great work ethic.

Having only been home for 2 weeks, we are still getting to know her, but the plan is to bring her along quietly and correctly with the goal to show her next season.  I have to say, I’m looking forward to see how she progresses – look for her in the ring next show season!  Fun times ahead!
